Justina Shiroka-Pula has been sworn in before the deputies of the Kosovo Assembly, officially assuming the duties of President of the Republic of Kosovo.
Her swearing-in took place after the completion of the voting process in the Assembly and the announcement of the results for the election of the new President.
Before the deputies, Shiroka-Pula pledged to exercise her duties in accordance with the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Kosovo. She also pledged to protect the country’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
“I swear that I will devote all my strength to preserving the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo, ensuring human and civil freedoms and rights, respecting and protecting the Constitution and laws, and preserving peace and the well-being of all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo. I will fulfill all my duties with conscience and responsibility. I swear,” Shiroka-Pula said.
Shiroka-Pula was elected president after the October 6 deadline set by the Constitutional Court had passed.
Justina Shiroka-Pula is an economist, university professor, and former Minister of Energy and Mining of Kosovo. In December 2025, she was elected president of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo, becoming the first woman to lead the institution.
