Italy is against United States President Donald Trump’s announced tolls in the Strait of Hormuz believing it would set a dangerous precedent, Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said Tuesday.
“We support freedom of navigation and oppose any type of toll,” said Tajani on the sidelines of the presentation of the Moto Italia event at the Farnesina in Rome.
“Implementing a toll in Hormuz would set a dangerous precedent,” he added.
“For an exporting country like Italy, it is certainly a negative thing.”
