An initiative by the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki, aimed at preserving, documenting, and digitally showcasing the cultural heritage of Jewish Hellenism, was presented at a one-day conference on Friday, hosted by the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki.

This is the digital repository of historical memory and culture of the Jewish communities of Greece, “IOSIPOS” – a project designed to create a comprehensive digital repository of knowledge and culture, including all aspects of the cultural heritage of the Jewish communities of Greece in electronic form.

The project is co-funded by the EU and is part of the Digital Transformation Programme 2021-2027.

The initiative aims for the digital repository of historical memory to be accessible online to the global community, providing the opportunity to explore the historical archives of the Jewish communities of Greece in a manner that fully respects historical memory.
The project is expected to be presented to the educational community and the general public through a large interactive digital exhibition in March, after which it will be made publicly available.
