An international photography exhibition, created by 27 women photographers from six countries, opens on 8 March and is dedicated to the International Women’s Day.

‘I am pleased that a few years ago we took the initiative to organise such an international exhibition, dedicated exclusively to women photographers who have committed to creating expressive images about the feminine universe. This year’s edition is also special because the public will be able to discover images taken by women photographers from Romania in Cuba, by artists from Italy in Africa or by creators from India in Europe,’ according to the exhibition’s curator, photographer Stefan Toth Istvan, president of the International Association ‘Euro Foto Art’ (AIEFA).

The 44 large-scale works will be displayed at the Euro Foto Art Exhibition Centre (EFA), part of the Oradea City Museum section and are signed by women photographers from several EFA partner countries: Italy, Hungary, India, Ukraine, Russia and, of course, Romania.

Italy is represented by Alessandra Barucchieri, Valentina Bellini, Sabina Bernacchini, Cristina Garzone, Sabrina Garofoli, Irene Perovich and Antonella Tomassi.

From Romania, the participating artists are Banhazi Gyongyi, Kenez Emese Katalin, Kovacs Orsolya, Morvay Szabo Edina, Mariana Scubli and Adelina Sora.

Hungary is represented by Berci Maria, Kenez Eva, Lehoczki Gyongyi, Lex Monika and Saletros Maria, while Russia is represented by Olga Kuzmina, Yulia Shulekina, Elena Solovieva and Oxana Vedmedenko.

Ukraine is represented by Olga Kukush and Tania Pavlyk, while India by Moumita Mondial, Mousumi Das and Rohini Mukhopadhyay.

Together, these artists create a broad international panorama of contemporary women’s photography, with women as the central subject, captured in multiple artistic expressions.

The opening takes place on Sunday at 11:00. The atmosphere will be enhanced by a musical programme performed by students from the Oradea Arts High School, featuring works from both Romanian and international repertoires.

Visitors can see the exhibition daily until 1 April 2026, between 09:00 and 17:00.

Under the partnership between the AIEFA and the local public transport company OTL SA, the works will also be displayed on screens inside Oradea’s public transport vehicles, bringing art closer to commuting audiences.
