Intergovernmental Cooperation and Fund Absorption: The Key to Economic Development in the Balkans

The Albanian Chamber of Commerce discussed on Tuesday the investment opportunities through technology and dedicated funds for economic projects, particularly in Albanian territories. The discussion also covered the opportunities for securing funds from the EU, the model of the African Union countries, and international lobbying for new recognitions for Kosovo, KosovaPress reports.

In the press conference on the topic “International Conference – Kosovo-Albania-North Macedonia,” governments were urged to collaborate more in supporting the above-mentioned issues. It was also emphasized that greater support should be given by the state to open more export opportunities.

The Chairman of the Albanian Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, Hyzer Gashi, said that today’s discussion offers an opportunity to unite the economic power that Albanians possess everywhere. He also stated that “the government must wake up from its slumber and create a greater economic power” and also support businesses more.

Present at the event was also the international businessman and Ambassador to the African Union for 35 countries at the UN, Avni Nasufoski, who said that to gain support from international partners, reforms are needed.

Regarding electricity, the President of PPS Universal Distrib, Btissam Daif, spoke, as reported by KosovaPress.

Additionally, Safet Sadiku from the Albanian Chamber of Commerce emphasized the need for direct cooperation between governments to take advantage of the model of countries in implementing funds.
