Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Compared with last year’s corresponding period, the prices of products and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index (CPI), were 4.2 percent higher on average in June.

According to Monstat, the consumer prices saw an average increase of 0.4 percent compared with May.

“The inflation rate at the monthly level was affected primarily by an increase in the prices of fruit, accommodation services, bread and cereals, milk, cheese and eggs, air transport of passengers, fuel and lubricants for motor vehicles, oil and lard,” the statistical office stated in a press release.

Compared with last year’s corresponding period, consumer prices were 3.3 percent higher on average between January and June.

Across the main groups, the monthly increase in prices was recorded for restaurants and hotels, transportation, food and non-alcoholic beverages, other products and services, recreation and culture, healthcare, housing, water, electricity and other fuel.

In this period, the prices decreased in the category of communications, alcoholic beverages and tobacco.

Prices of other products and services have not changed considerably.
