Podgorica, (MINA) – The Special Prosecutor’s Office
(SPO) has raised an indictment against six
Montenegrin citizens, suspected of smuggling around
2.5 tones of cocaine and 59 methamphetamine.
SPO stated that the indictment was submitted to the
Podgorica High Court against M.B., Z.K., N.N., R.V.,
N.B., and Z.D. for criminal offences of creation of a
criminal organization and illegal production,
possession and distribution of drugs.
“They are suspected of having smuggled for sale 150
kilograms of cocaine and 59 kg of methamphetamine, as
members of a criminal organization, by sea, from
Belgium to near Australia, in the period from
September to December 2020”, the SPO’s press release
reads.
The press release adds that the same indictment
charges M.B. with the criminal offense of
unauthorized production, possession and distribution
of drugs, due to smuggling of 380 kg of cocaine, by
sea, across the North Sea to Sweden, in May 2020,
while M.B. and Z.K. are charged with the same
criminal offense of smuggling 1,834 kg of cocaine, by
sea, from South America to Spain, in the period from
the end of January to the second half of February
2021.
SPO further stated that M.B. and N.B. have been
charged with smuggling 199 kg of cocaine, by sea,
from Belgium to near Australia, in the period from
the end of January to the middle of March 2021.
