India and Pakistan are willing to ease tensions, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajan said on X Thursday after talking to his counterparts in the Asian countries.

“I had some phone calls with the foreign ministers of India and Pakistan,” said Tajani, who is also deputy prime minister.

“I addressed an invitation to both to reduce tensions. Italy has a central role in promoting dialogue and achieving peace. I gathered the willingness of both parties to de-escalate. We will continue to work in this direction to stabilize the region and safeguard our trade routes”.
