TIRANA, September 26 /ATA/ Last evening in Tirana, painter Bashkim Dervishi opened the solo exhibition entitled “Incandescent” at the venues of the Gallery of the Faculty of Fine Arts, FAB. The exhibition will remain open there until October 5.
Curator of the “Incandescent” exhibition Ardian Isufi wrote that Bashkim Dervishi sings a hymn to the “Woman”, her magic, her fragility and at the same time her visual strength in intermediate situations, somewhere in everyday life and somewhere at the crossroads of art history.
“He is the postmodern Adam who follows Eve into the garden of his art, serving us naked not just the female figures, but stripping history,” wrote the pro curator. Assoc. Dr. Isufi.
According to him, “Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa” becomes stronger and more tempting in “Naked Mona Lisa” by Dervishi, or “Our Sister” by Idromeno” gains a feminine power fragility in the hidden nakedness of “Our Sister” by Dervishi”.
The images stemming from the same image is a concept and a clear artistic state which as Andy Warhol underlined: “I started to repeat the same image because I love the way repetition changes the same image”.
On his part, artist Bashkim Dervishi himself has said that each of his brushstrokes is like painting an inner light, a spiritual incandescence./
