TIRANA, July 12 /ATA/ There is an increasing number of tourists visiting the “Marubi” National Museum of Photography in Shkodra. According to Director Luçjan Bedeni, in the first 6 months of this year, the museum was visited by 9,000 tourists, about 3,000 more than the same period last year.
“This year the statistics are increasing, with about 9 thousand visitors”, said Luçjan Bedeni, director of the “Marubi” National Museum of Photography.
For years, tourists from Central Europe account for the highest share of visitors to the “Marubi” National Museum of Photography. “During these years, the Marubi Museum has been visited mostly by foreigners coming from Central Europe, meanwhile there is an increasing number of Spanish visitors”, said Bedeni.
The Marubi Photo Gallery was founded in 1970 and the “Marubi” National Museum of Photography which houses the collections of the photo gallery was inaugurated in May 2016. Today it is considered one of the unique museums in Europe.
The museum today houses a rare collection of photographs with about 500 thousand photographic negatives in different techniques and formats, as well as cameras, various documents and portraits of Albanian photographers.
