Ibrahimaj: 2027 Fiscal Package to focus on citizens and lower living costs

TIRANA, Nov 2  /ATA/The 2027 Fiscal Package will be centred on citizens’ needs, with the aim of lowering the cost of food, fuel, rents and housing. Economy and Innovation Minister Delina Ibrahimaj made the statement today, stressing that public demands and concerns had been taken into account in drafting the package.

Speaking to the media, Ibrahimaj said the new fiscal policy is intended to ease the cost of living, while also improving public services and encouraging economic growth.

“The 2027 Fiscal Package is centred on citizens, with the aim of reducing the cost of food, fuel, rent and housing. We have listened to the concerns of parents, students, pensioners and young couples and have developed a new tax policy designed to ease the cost of living, while ensuring better services for everyone and providing the economy with the incentives it needs,” Ibrahimaj said.

Ibrahimaj outlined several key measures included in the fiscal package, such as cutting VAT on food products, reducing the tax burden on middle-income households and scrapping the fuel circulation tax applied at petrol stations.

She added that small businesses will remain exempt from taxation, with the government also seeking to bring more of them into the formal economy.

“We will reduce VAT on food products, lower taxes for middle-income earners and abolish the fuel circulation tax applied when motorists refuel at petrol stations. Small businesses will continue to benefit from tax exemptions, while we work towards bringing them into the formal economy. This is a socially oriented fiscal package designed to serve citizens and ensure better living conditions for everyone,” Ibrahimaj stated.
