Hajdari: Kosovo was represented in CEFTA as an equal party

Kosovo hosted the CEFTA Joint Committee meeting on Thursday, as the chair of this regional mechanism in 2025, reports KosovaPress.

The acting Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MINT), Rozeta Hajdari, said that Kosovo was represented in CEFTA as an equal party, without the presence of UNMIK, thus marking “an important step towards consolidating its international subjectivity and strengthening its role in regional economic processes.”

She said that Kosovo will have an active chairmanship, aiming to achieve the successful implementation of CEFTA decisions adopted last year, and further developments regarding the CEFTA agreement, as well as to ensure the implementation of CEFTA measures within the framework of the Regional Common Market Action Plan 2 of the Berlin Process, reports. KosovaPress.

Meanwhile, David Hudson from the European Commission, who was part of today’s meeting of CEFTA countries, said that this mechanism aims to bring benefits to local businesses and consumers.

He also welcomed the agreement of the Western Balkan countries to move forward towards a regional common market, reports KosovaPress.

On the other hand, the acting minister, Rozeta Hajdari, presenting the objectives and priorities achieved at this meeting, said that all representatives of regional states participated in today’s meeting, including Serbia, which was represented online, reports. KosovaPress.
