The National Agency for Information Society (NAIS) makes its contribution when it comes to the use of ecological solutions to save electricity.
For a long time, there has been done a lot of work in this direction and the agency has already successfully implemented the project of using modern solutions to increase energy efficiency in the Government Data Center.
The project, financed by the European Fund for Regional Development and implemented by the agency, was presented during a conference held on Wednesday in Greece, in context of the cooperation program “Interreg Mediterranean”, with representatives of the participating countries and other international partners.
The representative of the NAIS at the meeting was the director of BCC Backup and DRC Aldo Kita, who presented to the participants all the work, challenges and ‘journey’ for the realization of the project, which aims to reduce the amount of electricity used to maintain work of information systems, which, among other things, serve to provide public services to citizens and businesses.
The process would be very challenging without the help of the EU in this regard, but Kita also appreciated the determination of the Albanian government to embrace every initiative that brings positive changes and at the same time combines the limitless possibilities of digital innovation with a deep commitment to the preservation and protection of nature and its resources.
From the solution implemented in the Government Data Center, which is a state-of-the-art technology, it is expected that the benefit will be both in terms of protecting resources and the environment, but also in terms of ‘return on investment’ (ROI) at a high level.
