Reliability is intertwined with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA), Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister and government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis said on Thursday, during the New Year’s cake-cutting ceremony in Thessaloniki.
At the Thessaloniki headquarters of ANA-MPA, Marinakis said, “All that has been achieved during recent years and we plan to do is based on reliability, having weekly meetings from the very start since assuming my portfolio,” the government spokesperson added. “The legacy of the last decades is heavy. The truth is that ANA-MPA’s transformation into an organization producing news that is reproduced more than any other medium’s in Greece is the essence on which we build every project we have.”
The spokesperson conveyed Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ best wishes to ANA-MPA staff and said “the prime minister’s greatest concern is that anything we do, every bill, every reform, every initiative, every effort to deal with one or more problems, our basic concern is that citizens are aware of it because it touches positively ον their daily lives.”
The role of the agency and all mass media is significant because the government is not limited to saying what it plans to do; but it tells citizens through explanation and analysis why it is doing it and how it becomes part of their daily reality.
“It is important to maintain, preserve, and enhance reliability, especially ANA-MPA’s, and to move together toward the future,” Marinakis said.
The spokesperson also expressed his own well wishes to ANA-MPA staff and their families, and those present, concluding, “What the prime minister has assigned me is a great responsibility, and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for being able to collaborate with people like the administration of ANA-MPA, but mostly with people like you, because all these years you have given of your soul for what is called information.”
