Gonxhja: “Sounds that Brought Freedom,” a unique project as a gift for preserving history

TIRANA, Nov 29 /ATA/ Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, stated on Friday that a unique project has been completed in the framework of the 80th anniversary of Albania’s Liberation.

Gonxhja wrote in a social media post: “The vinyl began to spin non-stop under the old gramophone needle, and soon the music of the partisan brigades started to play… As part of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Albania, the Ministry of Economy, Culture, and Innovation presents this unique project: ‘The Sounds that Brought Freedom,’ a compilation of iconic music from Albanian films about the national liberation war, masterfully performed by the Choir and Orchestra of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet, recorded on vinyl.”

The Minister emphasizes that this project is a gift to preserve history and pass it down from generation to generation, with melodies that remind us of the heroism and unwavering spirit of a people.

The soundtrack compilation of iconic Albanian films was put together thanks to the skilled hands of pianist Etrita Ibrahimi, the powerful voices of soprano Renisa Laçka, tenor Gerald Murrja, and Biorn Hoxha, as well as the orchestra and choir of TKOBAP, under the direction of maestro Dritan Lumshi.

The White Voices Choir, conducted by Sonila Baboçi, added a special emotional touch to the concert, making the evening a fitting tribute to our national history.
