In line with the promise of bringing a new spirit to the service for the citizens, the General Directorate of Archives inaugurated last evening the open theater and cinema.
In the reshaped courtyard of the institution’s building, with the participation of academics and dozens of students, one can find the newest cultural space added to the capital.
Attending the event were Director General of the Archives Ardit Bido, Director of the Central State Archives of the Film Marinela Ndria, representative of the Kosovo State Archives Agency, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of History and Philology Andi Pinari, historians Eva Tafili Hyskaj and Esmeralda Kolaneci.
Bido delivered the greeting speech expressing the intention of transforming the General Directorate of Archives into an attractive institution for young people.
“They can come not only to study, but also to see national archival history; they have all the space so they can show their talent,” Bido said.
The open theater and cinema has a capacity of 140 seats and aims to address young people through a service that combines entertainment and education. This project comes in the wake of the General Directorate of Archives’ initiatives to refine its activity in preserving and promoting national historical and cultural wealth.
