Skopje, 22 October 2026 (MIA) — Sunflowers Creative Center in Skopje will host a children’s art workshop dedicated to Pablo Picasso at 6 pm, launching their new free workshop series, “Stories that Come to Life: Art, Literature and Pantomime for Children.”
According to organizers in a press release, the workshops are aimed at encouraging children to explore, ask questions and express their own creativity.
Each workshop is based on storytelling, viewing artworks and talking about them as well as interpreting significant moments of the artist’s life story through acting and pantomime.
The workshop dedicated to Picasso highlights the freedom he brought to artistic expression. It was designed to motivate participants to freely express their thoughts, emotions and personal worldview through art, organizers said.
The practical part of the workshop will be focused on linocut, a relief printmaking technique participants will learn about through carving their designs into sheets of linoleum, rolling ink onto the surface and stamping them onto paper to create their own handmade prints.
The subsequent workshops will explore the works of Salvador Dali, Wassily Kandinsky and Vincent van Gogh.
Communications specialist and comparative literature scholar Marina Tufekchievska will run the workshops, alongside visual artist and art teacher Kristina Tanevska and art historian and mime artist Meto Janakievski.
All “Stories that Come to Life: Art, Literature and Pantomime for Children” workshops are free of charge. The project is supported by the City of Skopje. mr/
