Four members of the same family died of carbon-monoxide poisoning on Wednesday in their home in the province of Lucca town of Rughi.
The victims were a 48-year-old man, a 43-year-old woman and the couple’s two children, a 22-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl, sources said.
A fifth person who was in the house is a alive but is in a critical condition in hospital, the sources said.
Three Carabinieri police who intervened after the alarm was raised suffering mild poisoning, the sources said.
