“FOTCIENCIA” scientific photography exhibition, in Bucharest and Chisinau

The Embassy of Spain presents, in collaboration with the Museum of the Municipality of Bucharest and the National Museum of History of Moldova, in Bucharest and Chisinau, the “FOTCIENCIA” scientific photography exhibition, now in its 19th edition.

The exhibition includes 25 photographs selected from among the finalists of the competition of the same name organised by the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology, the Spanish Embassy said in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Friday.

The photographs develop the concept of a different perspective on things, seen with the naked eye on the one hand and through the microscope on the other, and aims to convey to the public the social value of science and artistic creation, by associating each photograph with a Sustainable Development Goal of the UN 2030 Agenda.

According to the press release, this edition also marks the “Cajal Year,” in memory of the Nobel Prize winner for Medicine, Santiago Ramon y Cajal, pioneer of neuroscience and trailblazer in medicine and science.

The 26 panels of the exhibition will be displayed in Bucharest around the Sutu Palace from 13 December to 10 January 2024, and in Chisinau on the fence of the National Museum of History of Moldova from Friday until 30 January 2024.
