Minister of Energy and Mining Sasa Mujovic has announced that the Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System (CGES) will initiate stronger regional cooperation among transmission system operators to enhance the security of supply for consumers in the region.
At an informal meeting in Banja Luka, he presented this idea, which was supported by the head of the Energy Community Artur Lorkowski to minimize disruptions in electricity supply, such as the one that occurred on June 21.
“The main idea, which is also as an interim step until the countries of the region have transposed European regulations and coordinated capacity and security calculations (CCR and SOR), is to enable the implementation of re-dispatching (coordinated changes in power plant output to manage grid congestion) as one of the remedial measures,” stated a press release issued by the CGES.
According to the company, this would involve an even greater level of regional coordination and cooperation in ensuring the security of electricity supply in the region.
