Flamingos return to Pogradec Lake

The flamingos have returned to the Lake of Porgradec for this season.

The National Agency of Protected Areas shared today in the social media moments from their stay at the lake.

“If you are near this lake, you may be lucky enough to see from close about 40 flamingos”, said the agency.

In recent years, flamingos have become an attraction for the bird-watching tourism in the natural habitats where they live. Flamingos are birds that usually migrate to warm countries and prefer salty and shallow waters, where they find their chosen food. In our country, Narta Lagoon, Karavasta is the habitat of this type.

For several years now, flamingos have been visiting the Pogradec Lake for a short period of time, even though it is not their natural habitat./
