ZAGREB, 18 May (Hina) – Average producer prices of agricultural products in Croatia rose 8.5% in the first quarter of this year compared with the same period in 2025, data from the national statistical office showed.

Prices of crop products increased by 11.6%, while prices of livestock, poultry and animal products rose by 6.5%.

The rise in crop prices was driven mainly by higher costs for vegetables, flowers and seedlings, up 23.4%, wine, up 14.3%, and fruit, up 10.4%. Cereal prices fell by 8.5%.

Compared with the same quarter last year, cattle prices increased by 22.9% and poultry by 1.5%, while pig prices declined by 15.5% and milk prices edged down 0.1%.

Prices of goods and services for current agricultural use fell by 2.3% year on year in the first quarter, driven by lower costs for animal feed, down 3.1%, and seeds and planting material, down 7.9%.

At the same time, prices rose for fertilisers, up 5.1%, energy and lubricants, up 4.7%, plant protection products, up 3.7%, and veterinary services, up 3.5%.
