The 41st Authentic Athens Marathon (AMA2024) will take place on November 9-10 with approximately 73,000 runners making a journey through History. Of these, 21,000 will be at the start of the 41st Athens Marathon (10/11) for the route to the Panathenaic stadium.

The Opening Ceremony of the event was scheduled for Saturday, November 9, at 12:30, at the Marathon Tomb.

The Authentic Marathon of Athens unwaveringly maintains the priceless ideals it represents and are demonstrated in the ceremony, which has been organized by the distinguished director, Nikos Gesoulis.

In the archaeological site, the spectators will watch a simple, but moving ceremony based on the music and the narration of the texts inspired by the Battle of Marathon by the writer and screenwriter, Thanasis Skroubelos. The narrator is the actor, Ilias Gogiannos.
