Enterprise Greece, Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council sign cooperation memorandum

Enterprise Greece, the investment & export promotion agency, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council (HABC), confirming their commitment to strengthen economic and trade ties between Greece and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

According to a statement, the memorandum was signed by Secretary General for International Economic Affairs at the Foreign Affairs Ministry Dimitrios Skalkos, also chairman of Enterprise Greece, and HABC Chairman Nick Stasinopoulos. The event was also attended by Enterprise Greece CEO Marinos Giannopoulos.

It should be noted that ASEAN relates to one of the most dynamic-growth markets globally, with a population of 670 million people and a GDP of over 4 trillion dollars. It provides significant opportunities for Greek export companies, especially in agrinutrition sector products (olive oil, wine, fruit), pharmaceuticals, construction material, shipping and logistics, information technologies and telecommunications, as well as tourism.

Attending the event were the following ambassadors: of Indonesia, which chairs the ASEAN Committee in Athens, Bebeb A.K.N. Djundjunan; Vietnam, Pham Thi Thu Huong; Thailand, Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya; and the Philippines, Giovanni E. Palec.
