ZAGREB, 12 Aug (Hina) – The Croatian Armed Forces have begun testing six newly acquired Bayraktar TB2 armed drones and their full equipment at the “Colonel Marko Živković” barracks in Velika Gorica, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement on Monday.
The trials, conducted day and night across Croatia, are being carried out by representatives of the manufacturer Baykar alongside Croatian personnel trained in Turkey.
The €67 million purchase (excluding VAT) was finalised in November 2024, and the first drone was publicly showcased during a recent military parade.
Besides combat roles, the drones will be used for border surveillance, fire monitoring, and reconnaissance. The Bayraktar TB2 is already in service in 37 countries, including several NATO members.
