ZAGREB, 7 Jan (Hina) – Croatia’s annual inflation rate, measured by the consumer price index, stood at 3.3% in December 2025, while prices fell 0.4% from November, the national statistics office said on Wednesday.

Annual inflation was 3.8% in November. The December rate of 3.3% was among the lowest recorded in 2025. Inflation stood at 4% in January, 3.7% in February, 3.2% in March and April, 3.5% in May, 3.7% in June, 4.1% in July and August, 4.2% in September and 3.6% in October.

According to the preliminary estimate released today, inflation for the whole of 2025 amounted to 3.7%.

In December, services prices rose 6.3% year on year, energy prices increased 3.9%, food, beverages and tobacco were up 3.1%, while prices of non-energy industrial goods rose just 0.1%. On a monthly basis, services prices increased by 0.3%, while prices of non-energy industrial goods fell 0.8%, and energy as well as food, beverages and tobacco declined by 0.7% each.

The statistics office said it would publish final December consumer price index data European by consumption on 15 January.

According to a preliminary estimate published by Eurostat on today, Croatia’s annual inflation rate measured by the harmonised index of consumer prices stood at 3.8% in December, while prices of goods and services fell by an average of 0.3% month on month.

Across the euro area, average annual inflation in December was 2%. Croatia recorded the fourth-highest inflation rate in the currency bloc, behind Slovakia and Estonia at 4.1% each, and Austria at 3.9%.
