Oradea – Romanian sport has recorded a new top achievement, as David Sferle, representing CS Crisul Oradea and a member of the national team, became a double world kempo champion at the 22nd IKF World Kempo Championship held in Antalya, according to the club’s website.

The event, now in its 22nd edition, took place between 20 and 26 April and brought together some of the world’s top fighters. The Romanian athlete dominated the +95 kg category, climbing the top step of the podium twice. Sferle won gold medals in both the semi-kempo and knockdown events, confirming his status as a world leader in his discipline.

The result in Antalya builds on his previous successes, as the athlete successfully defended the world titles he won last year in Portugal. His record now includes no fewer than 12 world medals, earned at competitions held in countries such as Tunisia, Portugal and Turkey.

His coach, Romeo Tulkos, said the achievement is the result of years of work, discipline and sacrifice, describing the moment as one of great emotion and pride. The Oradea club’s management also congratulated the athlete, highlighting the professionalism and dedication behind his success.

Through this achievement, David Sferle further consolidates his status as a benchmark in international kempo and becomes a role model for young athletes, demonstrating that Romania can perform at the highest level in global competitions.
