ZAGREB, 10 July (Hina) – Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said on Wednesday that the 2024-25 school year in Croatia will start on 9 September, and not on 2 September, which had been initially planned.
After a session with county prefects and city and municipal mayors in Sisak, PM Plenković said that the requests of some local authorities for shifting the beginning of the school year for a week later due to the ongoing tourist season were granted.
“Instead of starting on 2 September, the school year will start on 9 September, taking into consideration of the duration of the tourist season and weather conditions,” Plenković said.
He reassured the public that this would not adversely impact the education in primary and secondary schools.
