ZAGREB, (Hina) – The value of Croatian merchandise exports reached €23.1 billion in the first eleven months of 2025, which is 5% more than in the same period in 2024, while imports increased by 3.2 % to €40.8 billion, according to preliminary data released by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) on Friday.
During this period, the foreign trade deficit amounted to €17.7 billion, while the coverage of imports by exports stood at 56.5%.
According to DZSВ data, goods worth €15.3 billion were exported to EU member states in the first eleven months of last year, representing an increase of 5.8% compared with the same period in 2024, while exports to non-EU countries rose by 3.2% to €7.7 billion.
Imports from EU member states increased by 1.1% year on year in the first eleven months, to €31.4 billion, while imports from non-EU countries amounted to €9.3 billion, up by 11.3%.
Update on merchandise trade for first ten months of 2025
The provisional data on merchandise trade for the first ten months of 2025, issued by the DZS, show that total exports amounted to €21 billion, which is 6% more than in the same period of 2024, while imports rose by 4.2% to €37.4 billion.
This represents only a slight revision of the preliminary October data published on 9 December, according to which the value of Croatian merchandise exports in the first ten months of 2025 increased by 5.9%В year on year, while imports amounted to €37.3 billion, up by 3.8%.
According to the latest data, the foreign trade deficit from January to October 2025 totalled €16.4 billion, while the coverage of imports by exports was 56.1%.
As regards Croatia’s main foreign trade partners, in the first ten months of last year Croatian exports to Germany jumped by 12.8%В to €2.7 billion. At the same time, Croatian imports from Europe’s largest economy increased by 5.9%В to €5.5 billion.
The value of Croatian exports to Slovenia rose by 12.3%В in the first ten months of 2025 compared with the same period in 2024, reaching €2.5 billion, while at the same time the value of Croatian imports from Slovenia increased by 5.5% to €4.5 billion.
Furthermore, the value of exports from Croatia to Italy rose by 6.6%В to €2.4 billion, while Croatian imports from Italy fell by 9.6%В to €4.4 billion.
