Consulate General of Romania in London launches concept “More than a Consulate – a Community Hub”
The Consulate General of Romania in London launched, in the presence of the Romanian ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Laura Popescu, the concept ‘More than a Consulate, a Community Hub’ and its Strategic Objectives for the period 2025-2028.
Friday’s launch marks the beginning of a new stage in the relationship between the institution and the Romanian community, the Consulate claims on its Facebook page.
According to the same source, the Consulate General of Romania in London is the first consular mission of Romania to develop and implement this innovative model: an open and modern consulate, designed as a space for collaboration and partnership between institutions and citizens.
This transformation is the result of the investment of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the modernisation of the consular infrastructure, with the aim of providing public services at European standards and responding more efficiently to the needs of the Romanian community in the United Kingdom.
The new concept introduces an integrated approach: the consulate becomes a Community Hub, a meeting point for dialogue, cooperation and joint action.
The new facilities of the Consulate – conference room, multifunctional spaces and areas dedicated to vulnerable people – will be made available to NGOs, churches, associations, academia and Romanian professionals, for the organisation of social, educational and cultural projects that concretely respond to the needs of the community.
