Christmas Fair at Savarsin Royal Castle open to visitors until Sunday

The Christmas Fair at the Savarsin Royal Castle is now open visitors, who until Sunday have the opportunity to meet local craftsmen and producers and also visit some of the most important objectives of the royal domain, the Royal Family made the announcement on Friday.

The fair opened on Thursday evening with Her Majesty the Custodian of the Romanian Crown Margareta and His Royal Highness Prince Radu in attendance, accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia and Her Royal Highness Princess Maria. Also present were the mayor of the Savarsin rural town, Ioan Vodicean, along with representatives of the town hall and the Royal Collection Foundation, which organized the fair.

Visitors are expected on the royal domain until Sunday. In addition to the fair, they will also be able to see the Royal Automobile Museum, the Tea House, King Michael’s Car Repair Shop and the Souvenir Shop, the Royal Park being closed during the winter.

Her Majesty the Custodian of the Romanian Crown Margareta and His Royal Highness Prince Radu are in Savarsin for Christmas and New Year’s Eve, together with Their Royal Highnesses Princess Sofia and Princess Maria.

According to tradition, the royal family will distribute Christmas gifts to needy families in the rural town, as well as to employees of the castle and the Savarsin Forest District.

On Christmas Eve, the Dubasi [traditional drummers who would sing Christmans Catols – editor’s note] from Savarsin will be awaited in the square with the fountain within the Royal Village, and on the morning of December 25 the royal family will attend the Christmas service at the Orthodox Church in Savarsin.
