Biserko: Vucic does not implement the Brussels agreement, he is waiting for Trump to come to power
The president of the Helsinki Committee for human rights in Serbia, Sonja Biserko, says that the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic, is not ready to implement the Brussels Basic Agreement and the Ohrid Annex. According to her, Vucic is waiting for the change of political circumstances in the international context, especially the coming to power in the USA of the former president, Donald Trump.
Biserko is pessimistic that there will be progress in the dialogue, despite the possible high-level meetings and also of the chief negotiators in Brussels. Meanwhile, she emphasizes that the West is not pushing Serbia to fulfill the demands regarding bringing to justice those responsible for the terrorist attack in Banjska of Zveçan.
Biserko, in an interview for KosovaPress, asks the European Union to focus on dialogue even after the election of new structures in the union.
She adds that in the current circumstances there is potential for a crisis and tension between the parties.
According to her, last year’s terrorist attack in Banjska of Zveçan proves this.
She emphasizes that the international community should see the potential of destabilization coming from Belgrade, since, as she says, the West is not pushing Serbia to fulfill the demands regarding bringing to justice those responsible for the terrorist attack in Banjska.
In addition, the activist for human rights in Serbia considers it necessary to remove punitive measures against Kosovo.
