SARAJEVO, March 21 (FENA) – Bosnia and Herzegovina has officially joined the European Union’s EaSI (Employment and Social Innovation) program, which has a budget of 762 million euros for the period 2021–2027. The program provides funding for projects aimed at strengthening employment, social inclusion, and economic development, with a particular focus on supporting vulnerable groups.
The program offers a significant opportunity for projects that can contribute to tangible improvements in the quality of life in BiH.
By joining the EaSI program, institutions, non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, local communities, and employers in BiH will gain access to opportunities to participate in projects addressing key challenges in the labor market and social policy system.
These projects may include activities focused on retraining and workforce development, particularly for young people and the long-term unemployed, support for persons with disabilities, improving working conditions, protecting workers’ rights, and promoting a balance between work and private life, announced the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH.
Various types of organizations in BiH will be able to apply for funding under the EaSI program, including NGOs working on employment, inclusion, and social issues, government institutions and agencies focused on social protection and labor rights, educational and research institutions developing innovative solutions in social policy,
local authorities seeking to implement projects that support employment and the integration of vulnerable groups, chambers of commerce, employers, and entrepreneurs interested in improving working conditions and workers’ rights.
Calls for project proposals and application guidelines will be available on the European Commission’s official Funding & Tenders Portal, where details on eligibility criteria, deadlines, and priorities for each funding opportunity will be published.
Institutions and organizations from BiH will have the opportunity to participate in the first calls, which will be announced as early as 2025.
Access to the EaSI program allows Bosnia and Herzegovina to take part in the EU’s collective efforts to reduce social inequalities, increase employment, and improve working conditions.
In addition to financial support, the program enables the adoption of best European practices through experience-sharing and partnerships with organizations from EU countries.
