Bećirović and Cvijanović retain seats, Filipović the only new member of BiH Presidency

SARAJEVO, October 5 (FENA) – The only new face in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be Darijana Filipović from the HDZ BiH.

According to preliminary results, with 94 percent of the votes processed, she won 107,242 votes, or around 37,000 more than the second-place candidate for the Croat seat in the Presidency of BiH, Slaven Kovačević of the Democratic Front (DF).

Denis Bećirović (SDP BiH, United for the State coalition) retained the Bosniak seat in the state Presidency, winning 206,684 votes.

His main rival, Bakir Izetbegović of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), won around 22,000 fewer votes and is unlikely to catch up.

The same is true of Željka Cvijanović (SNSD), who will serve for a second term as a member of the Presidency of BiH from the entity of Republika Srpska.

Based on the incomplete vote count, she won 281,190 votes, twice as many as the next candidate, Marinko Božović of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS).
