From October 20 to 24, the camp of one of the biggest clubs in the world, Barcelona, will be held in Prishtina. The main goal of this camp is to discover talented children in football who will then have the opportunity to try out for the Catalan club.

Barcelona’s director for this camp in Kosovo, Diego Perreira, told KosovaPress that Kosovo is a country that has a large number of talents and that only a greater work should be done to discover them.

“I’ve been watching games here in Kosovo, male games, female games. I am sure you have a lot of talent. It’s just a matter of develop that talent and these kind of initiatives help to develop this kind of talent too”, he said.

Bardh Krasniqi, PR manager of this program for Kosovo, emphasized that the main goal of this camp is to discover children who have talent in football and who will then have the opportunity to show their skills in the trial stages in Barcelona.

“This is a Barcelona academy camp which will be held at the National Camp in Hajvalia, where our representatives also train… It will open from October 20 to 24. Barcelona has some criteria not to go for quantity but to focus on quality and we know that Barcelona does it best. So from October 20 to 24 we will have the official Barcelona camp in Kosovo, namely in Prishtina… After the camp phase, we will move on to the selection of talents, which will be done by Barcelona’s specific coaches who will be transferred to Barcelona, 30 of the talented children”, said Krasniqi.

Perreira further emphasized that the talents that will be selected will have a unique experience in Barcelona after the camp in Kosovo.

“The main objective from the club and from us is to give the children of Kosovo the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience, like being the coaches of football club Barcelona for a week here, then we have the possibility to train under the method, and under the values of football club Barcelona, which is a unique club in the world of football, a different club, a unique club and proud of being so different”, said Perreira.
