Albanians in the region are in a better position than ever, thanks to the diaspora as well

Albanians today in Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro are in a position where they are important as never before, and this is also thanks to the contribution of the Albanian diaspora over the years, which today constitute an important potential for the transformation of the states ours through their experience and expertise.

This was said at the third diaspora summit, which is being held in Tirana, and was attended by representatives of institutions from the region, and thousands of citizens and compatriots who contribute to the country and their families. However, it was also emphasized that the Albanians in Presheva, Medvegja and Bujanoc are facing systematic discrimination resulting in ethnic cleansing.

The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama said that the summit is a crossroads where everyone unites regardless of political beliefs, beyond all provincial affiliations as Albanians who have something to give.

Rama said that for 100 years of independence, the madness of not having a strategy to activate the diaspora is perhaps the greatest madness of politicians in Albania.

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has said that emigration is a sublimation of long efforts for statehood and independence and that it continues to be a catalyst for positive change wherever they live.

The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, said that learning and the quality of using the Albanian language should be priorities that unite us.

According to him, Albania does not have the luxury of neglecting the diaspora and they should not be seen as a separate part, but as a natural extension of our culture and identity.

The chairman of the Democratic Union for Integration, Ali Ahmeti said that he said that diaspora can make the homeland more prosperous, being educated in different countries of the world and to return.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro, Nikë Gjeloshaj, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Presheva, Shqipërim Arifi, also greeted those present. The summit started yesterday and continues also today in Tirana.
