ZAGREB, 10 March (Hina) – In January 2026, Croatian airports handled 365,000 passengers, up 8.8% from the same month last year, with 295,000 passing through Zagreb Airport, which saw a 6.4% increase year-on-year, according to the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.

Other major airports also saw growth — Split rose 24% to 42,300 passengers, Dubrovnik 16.3% to 23,000, Zadar 14% to just over 1,590, Osijek nearly 19% to around 1,400, and Pula 1.7% to about 1,300. Rijeka was the only airport to see a drop in the number of passengers, down 17.2% to 423.

In international passenger traffic, Croatian airports saw the highest number of connections with airports in Germany, Turkey and France, and passenger numbers on these routes also increased.

Despite more passengers, aircraft operations (takeoffs and landings) fell 5.6% to around 5,000 compared to January 2025, and cargo traffic dropped 14.3% to 609 tonnes.
