Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Airports of Montenegro (ACG) handled two million passengers during the first seven months of the year, said the company’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Stefan Madzgalj.
“More than 1.23 million passengers passed through Podgorica Airport, which since this spring has become a base not only for Air Montenegro but also for the low-cost carrier Wizz Air. At Tivat Airport, we handled more than 780,000 passengers,” Madzgalj said in a press release.
July was the busiest month, with more than 330,000 passengers served at Podgorica Airport and nearly 300,000 at Tivat Airport.
“Compared with last July, passenger traffic at Podgorica Airport increased by more than 50 percent, while Tivat Airport recorded growth of just over 10 percent,” Madzgalj said.
Recalling that Podgorica Airport introduced as many as 20 new routes this summer, while Tivat Airport added three, Madzgalj said the company is on track for another record-breaking year.
