TIRANA, May 27 /ATA/ The 6th edition of the “Spirit of the Balkans” festival, the largest folklore festival in the region, was held in Korça during the weekend. The performances by ensembles from North Macedonia, Greece, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Albania created a lively atmosphere at this festival.

Together with local and foreign tourists, the artists became part of a colorful celebration in Korça, with their parades in the pedestrian zone and performances in the old bazaar. The invited ensembles have showcased their traditions, performing dances and playing melodies, promoting the Balkan culture.

For the first time, an ensemble from Morocco was invited to perform in the 6th edition of regional festival.

The festival was organized by the municipality of Korça as well as the Center of Culture and Innovation, who had taken care to invite ensembles of high artistic quality.

The aim of the “Spirit of the Balkans” is to preserve and promote intangible heritage, as well as highlight the values of the Balkan region.
