1.7 million people employed in Croatia in April

ZAGREB, 28 May (Hina) – In April this year, Croatia had 1.7 million people in employment, which is 0.2% more than in the previous month, while compared with April last year, the number of employed persons fell by 1.9 %, according to data from the national statistical office (DZS).

According to DZS data, there were 1,702,293 employed persons in Croatia in April this year, which is 4,036 more than in the previous month. On an annual basis, the total number of employed persons decreased by 1.9%.

According to data obtained by the DZS from the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ), at the end of April there were 67,521 registered unemployed persons on the Service’s register, which is 8,410 fewer people, or 11.1%, compared with the previous month, and 17.1% lower than in April last year.

The registered unemployment rate in April stood at 3.8%, compared with 4.3% in March.
