TIRANA, April 6 /ATA/ During the first three months of 2024, over 1.7 million foreign tourists visited Albania, or 59% more compared to the same period of 2023.

There was a new record of tourist inflows in March of almost 735 thousand foreign visitors, or 91% more compared to March of last year.

Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro provided the figures on her official website.

“Over 1.7 million foreign tourists have visited us during the first 3 months of 2024. 734,000 foreign visitors came to Albania during March, which just marked a new standard in numbers and we must respond with the same standard in hospitality”, Minister Kumbaro said.

Yesterday, the minister said during opening of the International Tourism Fair that the challenge is no longer in numbers, but the guarantee of standards, quality and elite tourism.

The coming week starts with an important event for tourism, such as the 70th meeting of the Commission for Europe of the World Tourism Organization and the Investment Conference during which there will be presented the guidebook “Tourism Doing Business: Investing in Albania”. This is the first time that Albania officially hosts an activity of the World Tourism Organization.
