ZAGREB, 6 Aug (Hina) – The Museum of Travel, which was recently opened in Ilica 1, Zagreb, offers visitors a range of multimedia travel models and a depiction of travel through history: from ancient and Roman trade routes to transoceanic migrations and modern-day backpackers.
Alongside exhibits on global travel, a special section is dedicated to Croatia, showcasing its natural scenery and cultural landmarks protected by UNESCO, as well as its gastronomy and sporting achievements. This is presented through an interactive map and sensory bins offering an immersive experience of Croatia’s scents and natural beauty, the statement highlights.
The museum presents various stages of human history and population movement, starting with prehistoric Г–tzi, through ancient Roman trade routes that connected Europe’s commercial hubs with the wider world, especially the Far East, pilgrimages, the evolution of travel and transoceanic migration, to leisure travel and the discovery of new destinations.
Furthermore, 360-degree projections of global attractions, cityscapes, various modes of transport, megacities, and medieval towns form an impressive finale to the virtual journey through world and Croatian destinations.
