Volume of cargo processing in Durres port increases 15%

TIRANA, Aug 31 ATA/ The volume of processing of goods in the Port of Durres recorded an increase of 15% during January-July of this year.

Durres Port Authority announced that in January-July this year 4.2 million tons of goods were processed, up from 3.6 million tons of goods that were processed in the same period a year ago.

The port of Durres holds the largest weight for processing goods in the country, with about 99% of the total.

The government envisages the construction of the new port in the Porto Romano area, which is expected to provide services to two dry ports, the one in North Macedonia and Kosovo.

The new port at Porto Romano will create a logistical space, which will serve as a hub for further economic growth for the Tirana-Durres area and the processing of transit cargoes at the port.
