Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Turkish Chamber of Commerce in Podgorica (TurkCham Montenegro), the inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) from Turkiye to Montenegro amounted to around €417 million from 2020 to August of last year, accounting for eight percent of the total inflow of foreign capital.
“Growth over the past two years has been particularly impressive. In 2024, Turkish investments reached €100.9 million, while as much as €110.8 million was recorded from January to October of last year,” President of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce Burhan Genc stated in a press release.
He said that these figures clearly show that Turkiye is the largest foreign investor in Montenegro, confirming the continuity and reliability of their partnership.
“Today, more than 12,900 Turkish companies operate in Montenegro, which is a quarter of all foreign companies in the country, and as concrete proof of Turkish investors’ confidence in the business climate, legal security, and growth potential of the Montenegrin economy,” Genc said.
The structure of investments is diverse: from intercompany debt amounting to €51.8 million, through real estate investments of €35.6 million, to direct equity investments in domestic companies and banks. Each of these investments contributes to strengthening the economy, developing infrastructure, and creating new jobs.
