Top Turkish, US diplomats discuss ensuring full cease-fire in Gaza ‘as soon as possible’

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed bilateral ties and regional issues in Brazil on Wednesday.

Fidan and Blinken exchanged views on the steps that could be taken to ensure a full cease-fire in the Gaza Strip “as soon as possible,” said Turkish diplomatic sources.

On the sidelines of the G-20 Foreign Ministers Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, they also discussed the war in Ukraine, NATO’s expansion process, peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia and other regional issues.

According to the sources, the two men also spoke about the schedule of high-level visits to be made in the coming period.
