Italy’s third heat wave of the summer will continue until at least Monday July 20, forecasters said Thursday.

After the 38-40°C temperatures reached during the extreme peaks of the second heat wave, more very high temperatures are expected in the coming days, they said.

Florence and Perugia will be under a red heat alert Friday and Saturday, with a high of 43°C on Monday in inland Sardinia.
