The number of tourists increases — here is the most visited municipality

In March of this year, the number of domestic and foreign visitors in hotels was 40,239, of which 37.4 percent were domestic and 62.5 percent were foreign visitors, KosovaPress reports.

According to the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (ASK), compared to March 2024 when there were 39,374 visitors, this March saw an increase in the total number of hotel visitors by 2.2 percent.

“The number of overnight stays was 84,462, of which 39.7 percent were by domestic visitors and 60.2 percent by foreigners,” ASK states.

According to ASK, the highest number of domestic visitors in hotels was in the Prishtina region with 4,931 visitors. Meanwhile, the highest number of overnight stays was in the Peja region with 14,562 overnight stays.

The largest number of visitors came from: Albania, Turkey, Germany, Switzerland, etc. “As for foreign visitors, compared to the previous period (March 2024), there is an increase in the number of visitors by 4.7 percent. In total, there were 25,173 foreign visitors, with the highest number coming from: Albania, Turkey, Germany, Switzerland, etc.,” the ASK report states.
