Bulgarian Weightlifter Karlos Nasar Sets 3 World Records in Germany

The Olympic weightlifting gold medalist in the up to 89 kg, Karlos Nasar set world records in the snatch, clean and jerk and total categories during a round of the German Bundesliga on Sunday.

The Bulgarian, who currently weights 93.9 kg, lifted 185 kg in the snatch, 230 in the clean and jerk and collected a total of 415 kg. That is 11 kg more than the world record in the bout he set this summer in Paris when he took the Olympic title.

Nasar improved both individual bests in the individual movements. In the French capital, he recorded 224 kg in the statch. The world record in the snatch was also set this year, but is held by Colombian Yeison Lopez, who lifted 182 kilograms.

However, Nasar’s records will not be recognized because only Olympic Games, World and Continental Championships, and World Cup achievements count as weightlifting records.
