Podgorica, (MINA) – The closing of the negotiation chapters and the achievement of other key goals clearly shows that Montenegro is on the right path to the EU, said Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Peter Szijjarto, adding that Hungary will continue to strongly support the enlargement process.
According to the Government’s press release, Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanovic met with Szijjarto during his visit to Budapest.
The government stated that the meeting was an opportunity to assess the current state of bilateral relations and reaffirm Hungary’s support for Montenegro’s EU membership path.
Szijjarto emphasized that Hungary will continue to strongly support the EU enlargement process and pointed out that the country is proud of its role in supporting the reforms implemented by Montenegro.
Ivanovic expressed gratitude for Hungary’s strong and continuous support to Montenegro, especially during the six-month presidency of the Council of the EU.
According to the press release, the significance of Hungary’s contribution to Montenegro’s accession process has been underscored.
Both officials agreed that relations between Montenegro and Hungary are excellent, and will continue to strenghten at all levels.
