Sport in Kosovo continues to be seen as one of the most important pillars of state identity and international representation. From Olympic medals to the success of athletes in the world arena, sport has often been ahead of institutions in building our sports scene. The year 2025 has marked a significant increase in investments in sports infrastructure. Total cost and price for the project for the first time with 96 million euros, Duke expects no more than 5 lives for the project. According to data from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, there are over 35 new projects and as many new workshops, from tennis courts worth 200,000 euros to stadiums worth 19 million euros. According to him, sport has contributed in an extraordinary way to the affirmation of Kosovo before and after independence, so the government is trying to repay this debt through investments and concrete support.
On the other hand, the mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, estimates that the state and local institutions always have room to do more for sports.
Former President of the Kosovo Olympic Committee, Besim Hasani, admits that important steps have been taken by the state, such as awards for Olympic medalists and the law on sponsorship. However, he emphasizes that these measures are not enough without serious investments in sports infrastructure.
Kosovar athletes continue to bring successes and represent the country with dignity on the international stage, while the debate on the role of the state in the development of sports remains current and necessary.
